Tim Martin continues to wow us with his diorama work, this time going for a period look for the photos.

Tim! those pictures are just beautiful! If I knew not the originals, Id say they are period pictures! one of my favourite is the one with the big red x as if censored by propaganda or political supervision. also the ones with the exploding truks are fantastic! I find that black and white lets your imagination run, so you can better imagine what should have been like to be there adding drama and realism to the scene.

I cant wait to see your next project!

Hey Tim - great to see all of this come together! As one who followed along with your build - I'm a-ok with your photo work/color change etc - you did one heck of a lot of building, testing and retesting to get to where you are! I watched and enjoyed seeing the updates - Glad to see you present it the best way you see fit!

Looking forward to your next project

Thanks gents I guess Colin wasnt impressed how much I crapped on so he cut out all line/para spaces...and loaded the pix in reverse order! Maybe he still hasnt forgiven me for the er crack about his avatar.

Glad you liked the results Edo, you saw the potential & I found my inner fraudster decades ago I fooled my final-year tutor at uni for about 30 seconds with a full-on drawing of a dancer a la Degas, tea stains and all. Since retiring I was contemplating a lucrative part-time occupation, so maybe...

Thanks for the aye-vote Nick, I just feel Id prefer to know whether what I was looking at was or wasnt what the author saw through the lens when the photo was taken.

Hmm next project...might be further delayed. Regulars will recall my wife had an Achilles operation earlier this month... unfortunately 4 days later she fell over trying to self-locomote (against orders) in hospital and broke her wrist into about 20 pieces according to the surgeon who glued them back together with a titanium plate. So the love of my life now looks like shes been in a bad road smash with plaster casts on two (opposing) limbs, although shes kinda enjoyed being on heavy-heavy opioids for many of the last 10 days. Rehab & physio are now much more complicated and will take longer & with a lot of help, so I might manage a couple of ammo boxes by August.

Tim: I have reversed the order for you, but I am unsure what your other comment means as the pictures look like the ones I have?

Thanks Darren (& Colin), it was just a lame joke about writing too much accompanying text so it was condensed into a solid block Its fine & many thanks for publishing.

"Enhanced" images are quite OK as long as they are flagged as such.
I like grape fruit and I like pine-apples but I'll be mighty angry if I buy a bag of grape fruit and it's full of pine-apples.
I like this variant of model photography. A lot can be done with backdrops, depth of field, converting to b&w or sepia et.c.
With the better class of digital cameras it is possible to get "endless" depth of field by combining a series of images with different focus distances. The close-up photo of a small object can be made to look as if it was a photo of the real thing taken from a distance. / Robin

Outstanding work Tim, very impressed with the "old style card" framing.

p.s. I love your thread title!

And no Tim, I'm not upset about your avatar comment lol (I don't even remember what it was!). More just fried brains from overwork right now.
