Mike, thanks for the comment. At least the kids use bright colors

Nice job on the Tu-2. It looks very professional and realistic despite the egg shape.

Some neat work being shown already .

A couple of questions for the "Powers Above"

a. Are civilian auto's allowed (F1 race) ?
b. Any problems with a scratchbuilt caricature ?.

I see the Official rules state:

"This campaign is about building a caricature kit; a kit of a vehicle (land, sea, or air) or figure that has been deformed squished, scrunched, mushed, mashed, or Eggified by the manufacturer."

hopefully a meer oversight .

Yep, a mere oversight Turtle.

Eggified Auto is perfectly fitting as is a scratch caricature.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Mike,
Thought I'd just better check .
Have enlisted, just trying to decide which vehicle will be quickest and easiest (famous last words).
Will do the entry posting soon .

Roger,

Can't wait to see the Eggo-F1!
As I was doing my build I was designing a Eggo-Lamborghini.

Maybe next time I will do that build.

Jeff,
Cheers for that, here's a bit of inspiration for your Lambo :

Would be nice to see this done .

For other cars in this style just search engine "Choro Q".

all,
well here's my starting 'kit' :

Just exclude the cab and bits'n'pieces on top of the file drawers, and include a couple of packets of Fimo clay .

Still not 100% sure which era race car I'd prefer, however for a quick glimpse into my twisted thought processes:

Whichever I choose it will be in the style of Jim Bambers cartoons.
Updates to follow as and if/when they happen .

Keep up with the great builds being shown already

Jeff.
About the only thing that is causing any potential grief are the decals . Might just have to upscale to 20th'ish scale and see if I can scrounge some . Too lazy to scan/adjust and print my own .

Lovely little Pz IV .
Since my time is a bit limited at the moment I've changed plans and going for something a lot quicker and easier.
First problem solved - grab an egg:

Second problem - deciding what to build :

Just messing about with the crayons and doodling, trying to visualise the 1:1's as eggplanes .
More to follow as it happens.

guy's.
Finally managed to formulate a plan of attack for the GB .
Tat - I prefer any of my projects not to have any form of weaponry .
So a proper start has now been made, went this route as I have 72nd scale Kamov parts :

Cheers for looking in.

Roger,

Looing forward to your build. This should be interesting.
It looks like the engine on the Kamov could be small reverse eggs as well.
Hopefully I can learn some things and then when the next one comes along can scratch build my own.

The we can both do cars next time.....

all,
just for anyone interested, my blog is now in the Scratchbuilders forum.
Jeff - don't follow my lead, you're stepping close to the "dark-side" of modelling . I've still got the desire to scratch/sculpt a caricature car, it might depend if there's another Egg GB and/or if I'm allowed back .

Just a quick update , the Kamov Ka-26 is plodding along. Quite a few bits have had to be reworked to get the "look".
In the meantime I stumbled upon a gorgeous aircraft and couldn't resist making a start as an eggplane:

and in caricature style:

so another part day was spent shaping a new egg master pattern then slaved over a hot oven to vac-form the egg.
Just working on the mouth at the moment:

I've already slapped on some builders bog, building up the layers to get the contours I'm after .
Feel free to jump in with any CC/thoughts/suggestions.

Hi, I hope you don't mind me pitching in like this, I recall seeing the announcement of this campaign back in January, but I'd already started my Meng Kids tank by then, so I couldn't enlist. I had a build log over on Armorama and have just posted the final photos of the completed model, yesterday, here.
I see that Tat got into a similar approach to me, with a little extra detailing and some subtle weathering. Very nice Panzer III, and some of the aircraft are very nice too

There's also some dangerously ambitious scratching going on, I see...

Here's a couple of photos of mine, there's more on the build log, if you're interested:
