Recently I have had a focus on 1/48 WWII fighters and 1/24 Muscle Cars so this might be a perfect opportunity to smash out a quick 1/72 multi-engine build which I have conveniently stashed away. I won this in a club raffle a couple of years back.

Cheers, D

I'm guessing that the PB4Y-2 is a repop of the Matchbox kit. I've got it somewhere with loads of panels to pop in for various options, so there's plenty of sanding and filling.

An interesting choice, Damian. I've never seen one modelled before. Though I'd be wary of combining the words: multi-engined and quick-build. Hopefully you'll be fortunate. My experience is more engines = more putty = more sanding. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.

Yes, but the whole point of the doomsday machine is lost if you keep it a secret! Why didn't you tell the world?

Thanks for the encouragement folks! I'm hoping that the gaps and seams scale down at the same ratio as the parts, and my ham-fistedness follows suit!
Edit: I went stash-diving and found the kit tonight, when I originally got the kit I cut the fuselage and wing parts off the sprues to do some test-fitting. The fit looks pretty good, but the locating pins on the fuselage halves are quite small and far apart so I think I will need to put a bit of bracing in to strengthen it. The instructions call for 40 grams of weight in behind the cockpit bulkhead to keep it sitting right. Here is a comparison shot with my current 1/48 P-47 build.

Here are the three kit scheme options

The US Navy and Aero Navale versions have the turrets, the RCAF version has all of the small side windows, so I will do some research into review builds to see which version presents the least difficulty. On first look I am leaning towards the Aero Navale scheme in overall gloss midnight blue, but then again I don't mind the look of the tricolour USN scheme. The thought of this much NMF to do the RCAF version is a bit daunting, but it would be impressive. Time for a glass of red and some contemplation.
Cheers, D

I am in this build. I am going to do either a Canadair CL-44 or their CL415. I tend to favour Canadian built aircraft for some reason. Now to find a kit of one of them.
Modelling is something we never perfect. We should never quit learning new tricks and be willing to share what we have learned on our own.

I'm in with Great Wall's 3.7cm Flak 43.

Although probably not totally appropriate, my plan is to tow this behind the SdKfz 251/1 I'm building for 250/251 campaign.

Ooh sign me up!
Got a Dragon T34/85 with the odd bedspring armors in my stash which I got fairly cheaply (20 USD give or take). Good thing this campaign starts in June cause I'll probably be swamped with work in the coming month.

My LVT4 is on deck! The parts are all there and I’ll be using a set of Bison Decals for the markings. I know they are not the same scale (1/72 & 1/76) but am hoping it is close enough for what I’m after. Now time to sit back and await the start date to arrive.

Hey, we don't have a ribbon yet! I have a couple of ideas:
Simple:

Or a little more subtle:

Let me know what you think! I'm certainly open to other ideas as well if neither of these trip your triggers.

I like the four oak leaf clusters.
The oak leaves need to be a bit lighter or brighter for more contrast.
