Hello modelers,

just had an awful accident with my airbrush last week. During cleaning, one seal was washed out and went down the drain .
But yesterday the replacement parts arrived. Hence, the Komet was primed and pre-shaded.

Additionally some guys arrived, proving that the model´s state is definitely the year 1945 .

Excellent work! Once of these days I may try a metal finish Yours looks really nice.

I also like the detail you added to the engine.

Hello fellow modellers,

have had some setbacks in this project. I applied the camo onto my Komet.

After this, I found a picture in the net of the plane I want to build with an entirely different camo

So, I will better make some literature research for the next project.
After this, I stripped of the paint (Thanks to a acrylic paint and an enamel primer) and repainted the Komet.

Compared to a black/white picture, I am quite happy with this one.

Next will be the decalling!

Thank You Gary.
Meanwhile, the decals are rather annoying. On the one hand, they are very stiff and do not react to my Decal Softener. On the other hand, they do not glue onto the surface, although this was prepared with future

Maybe several further layers of gloss coat will help!

A little further along withe the Bf109K-4, masked the canopy and painted the seams to check their condition. Seams need a little work but not to bad in the greater scheme of things. Painted some of the components RLM02, getting ready for a little weathering before final assembly.

Hi Oliver I think I've finally settles on "yellow 4" of II/JG3. The other aircraft have tail bands that are supplied as decals but I like the colour scheme more and it's named a rare thing (IMHO) on German aircraft.

Gary, nice aircraft version You chose there.

My decal problem were more ore less solved by some layers of Klear. This is the state after some panel-line washing:

Beautiful work on the Komet, Oliver. The camouflage looks spot on. Looking forward to see more.

Nice progress on the K-4, Chris. Great choice of color scheme and markings. I have the same marking scheme on my to do list.

I am planning to do a Me 262 for this campaign, but I am sure I will change my mind a lot of times before I start cutting plastic

Thomas, Jeff and Jesper. Thank You very much for Your comments. Real life has been rather busy, but I managed to finish the kit now. I just gave the Komet an additional post-shading and a flat finish, than applied some pigments.

Here is the assembled Komet:

Hope You like it!

Fantastic, Oliver! I like how the pigments give it a dirty look underneath.

Gary and Chris.
Thank You very much for Your kind comments. Except the decals, building this kit was a great pleasure. I, think, I will try some diorama with it, but I am not quite good in painting figures.

Hello PrickleHead,

nice to have more traffic in this thread. It seems to be a little bit quiet around here.

What scale is Your Dora?

Happy modelling
