hi my name is david from dublin all im new to this fourm my hobbie is models im starting a tamiya A-10 thunderbolt 1/48 and looking for some advice if anyone has done one before?

another just looking for people ways on masking canopies?

Welcome, David, glad you're here. . Have you tried to mask canopies with "Bare Metal Foil"?

never tried it with metal foil also with tamiya masking tape but can never get that smooth round edge. what way would i approach it with the metal foil?

Bare metal foil is a product you can get from model shops. or littlecars.com in UK do it. 5 a sheet.

Its sticky on the back, and foil on top.

Sometimes you'll still need thin strips of tamiya tape. But this great stuff.

I bought it at the scotnats model show. Their stand was just packed with goodies. I guess they attend most UK shows.

thanks all i just got it off ebay so ill have it in plenty of time before i even get to the canopy :-) thanks again

this is the 5th ever model and the first time im going to try spraying panel lines im nervous as hell but sure its all trial and error and first time to use tamiya acrylics which i have to say
are not as good as i taught they would be very watery and bad at adhensive but sure we will see how it turns out :-)

Marks Models is good, but small. It's only about 2 mins walk from O'Connell Bridge

yea there is marks models in hawkins street its pretty much out main
model shop in the city

i find testors acrylics spray alot better than the tam's and ive had good results
