introduction

The modern seatbelt , what can you really say about it? Invented by George Cayle and introduced as basic car equipment in 1959 by Volvo. They saved many lives and we should thank George Cayle for that! There are several versions, we will be reviewing the most common type, the "3 point seatbelt“.

This set is made by Hobby Design, one of the best "bang for your buck“ companies that produce aftermarket items for model cars. This simple and inexpensive set will help you upgrade your model with minimal work.

CONTENTs

• 5 Resin buckles in gray resin
• 1 Photo-etched fret containing 15 parts
• Adhesive material for seatbelt

The Set

The resin parts have no bubbles or any kind of casting residue and look very nice.
The material you get for making the actual belt has a weaved thread pattern which looks very realistic and to scale, you should probably be able to do about 10 seatbelts with the material.
In terms of photo-etched parts you get the tongue, adjuster and end bracket (5 of each), they are sharply and accurately etched.

Basically that's it. You cut off the buckle, glue it on the seat, cut a piece of the seatbelt material , remove the adhesive backing and add 3 photo-etched parts. Just try to find some references of the particular car that you are doing for correct placement. Race cars usually have 4 or 5 point seatbelts, so this set is for normal road cars (there are exceptions of course).

CONCLUSION

This simple and easy upgrade set was purchased from Hobbyeasy for 4.87 USD plus 0.78 USD for shipping.

I would highly recommend this set to anyone who is interested in adding detail to their car model.
