Upgrade set

Here’s another great release from Werner's Wings, the AH-1F Cobra resin update set in 1/48th. This set is designed to fit the new Revell Bell AH-1F Cobra #04646 kit. Basically the newer AH-1F is cut from the same molds of Monogram AH-1S.
This set came in a 4 x 6 zip-loc bag containing 10 pieces, 9 cream colored and one in gray. You also get a double sided black & white instruction sheet with easy to follow directions.
Inside this set you’ll find:
- Sincgars fm antenna mount
- Alq-136 antenna
- Apr-39 blade antenna (2)
- A couple of mounting clamps and a blanking plate for the alq-144 (disco ball) when not used.
- An upgraded exhaust system with detail missing from the kit
- An M-130 Chaff Dispenser
- Skid mounted IR light
Most of the smaller parts are together on a pour block. There are no numbers identifying each of the pieces. On the instruction sheet you’ll find a photo showing pieces numbered.
Caution is needed when removing the parts of the block as they are very small, best bet when removing the pieces is to use a new sharp blade scoring both sides of the pieces.
What I like most is the upgraded exhaust. On the model kit the exhaust is molded in two halves, both section attached to the fuselage. The exhaust on the kit has many rings around it making it hard to align and fill in the seam line.

This is definitely a must have set and I highly recommend it for your next AH-1F Desert Storm
Cobra project. Be sure to pick up Werner Wings IPS & Debris deflector which will further detail one of the Army’s best attack Cobra.
You can purchase this Cobra Upgrade set and other great products directly from www.wernerswings.com.
I’d like to give thanks to Floyd for giving us the samples for review on AeroScale.

Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AeroScale.
Highs: Molds are well casting in crisp detail. A simple conversion at a great price.
Lows: You will need to be patient as many of the parts are small.
Verdict: Werner’s Wings also has a great selection of resin parts to further update and detail the AH-1F Cobra. Be sure to check over at www.wernerwings.com for these resin parts and future releases.
