MacOne Models is an aftermarket company from Spain offering high-quality AFV and diorama accessories. The company recently released several sets of 1/35 scale bollards and this review covers two of those sets: Bollard type B (MAC35169) & Bollard type C (MAC35170).
The sets are packed in plastic blister boxes. The contents of both sets are clearly visible through the box front, while the box art image in the back provides a visual reference of the specific type of bollard included in each set.
Bollard type B (MAC35169)
includes 12 resin pieces organized on 4 identical carrier blocks. Each block contains a large round bollard and two bollard arms cast in grey resin. Closer inspection reveals no casting imperfections in resin, with concrete surface realistically delivered in scale. Each bollard features two shallow indentations; these attachment points ensure perfect positioning of bollard arms. The small zip-lock bag included in the set holds brass pieces: 10 rings and a 20cm long chain segment. The rings should be carefully opened using needle nose pliers, connected to bollard arm on one side and chain link on the other, and then closed again. The set provides all the essentials for making 4 complete bollards w chain, as shown on the image below.
Bollard type C (MAC35170)
includes 4 resin pieces, each on its own carrier block. Cast in grey resin, the bollards feature sharp details an no casting imperfections whatsoever. This is a slightly different type of bollard, a cast iron bollard in octagonal shape. Again, the small zip-lock bag included in the set holds 10 brass rings, a 20cm long chain segment and copper wire. The wire could be bent to C-shape and glued to the bollard itself. These eyebolts are then ready to accept rings and chain as with the previous bollard type described in this review. The set provides everything needed for making 4 complete bollards w/wo chain, as shown on the image below.
Bollard type B (MAC35169) & Bollard type C (MAC35170) from MacOne Models are very welcomed 1/35 scale diorama accessory sets. Both sets contain perfectly cast resin pieces, brass rings and chain segments for making 4 complete bollards each.
